BOOK REVIEW and SHAKLEE SOLUTIONS:

THE BOOK: Simple Shui for Every Day by Amanda Gibby Peters

Feng Shui. Wind/Water. Energy/Fortune.

I read this book because I know our home environments influence our health.

Amanda says “..we attract and hold onto chi that supports our happiness and well-being. I like to think of it as home improvement-meets-self improvement!”

She gives us 365 ways to bring Feng Shui into our lives one day at a time. She offers daily prompts to help us embrace this system of organizing our living spaces in relationship with the flow of energy through our homes.

…. “The entire purpose of Feng Shui is to align with the energy of fortune. Nothing more, nothing less.”

Try one of her tips everyday and see if good fortune finds you!

Grab a cup of coffee, or take a walk and check out our Podcast for a more in-depth discussion. (The Health Geeks Book Club Podcast)

How can Shaklee products help you bring Feng Shui home….

For starters: according to Feng Shui—your windows are the eyes of your home. They are related, on an energy level, to your ability to see clearly in life. Consequently, this book inspired one of my 360 Health Challenges — The Get Clean Window Challenge. I invite you to do your own challenge… clean a different window each day for 30 days or just 2 weeks, you decide, You don’t have 30 windows? Then clean those mirrors, picture frames and/or glass table tops! A task a day as you read your Simple Shui tip for the day!

So let’s get those windows and other glass surfaces in our homes sparkling. And let’s use one of the best products available.

Shaklee’s Basic H2 concentrate dilutes to make a window cleaner. Only two drops in 16 oz of water Here is a really good read about the power of Basic H2. Cheaper than vinegar and all those kitchen ingredient recipes and its SOOOO much simpler to mix, AND there are sooooooooo many less bottles to send to the landfill or recycling centers. We love the concept of Reuse, Reduce, Recycle!! AND … we love that it is less expensive, works better and doesn’t smell like pickles.

Are you using paper towels, newspaper or cloth to clean your windows? WHY?? Check out some of these accessories. I particularly like the Get Clean® Super Microfiber Window Cloth. Save the trees and landfills. When I found these products, I just tossed all my old chemical cleaners and replaced them with the simple and multipurpose/functional Get clean starter kit and caddy!..And speaking of trees, Shaklee will plant a tree for every Get Clean Kit sold.

BOTTOM LINE:

The book, Simple Shui for Everyday, is a great introduction to simple engagement with Feng Shui. There are more in-depth books on the subject, but this one is a fun start.

Shaklee Get Clean products help you keep your home healthy for your family and the planet.

Polyphenols “are strong antioxidants…. proven to inhibit reactive oxygen species (ROS) and proinflammatory cytokines, as well as improve mitochondrial function…… Antioxidants also decreased homocysteine, a brain toxin… which contributes to the pathology of neurodegenerative diseases. (Rita Moretti et al, 2019.)… We definitely recommend getting polyphenols in a pill, but also in their original packaging, fruits and vegetables.” Pgs. 110-111

Polyphenols are in our patented Resveratrol Polyphenol blend called Vivix.

Vitamin D “deficiency has been linked to many age-related diseases, like Alzheimer’s disease and other various inflammatory conditions.  ….. I do recommend Vitamin D3 4000 units daily to safely get levels above 50 nanograms per milliliter {in your blood} , which is the measure most labs use. (Verena Landel et al, 2016) And you should have started taking it yesterday, for the best effect.” P. 116

Ashwagandha “appears to have a good amount of neuro-protective potential in various brain disorders, though our understanding of how it works is still vague at best. (Sultan Zahiruddin et al, 2020)” p.109

Ashwagandha is in Stress Relief Complex.

B vitamins – “It (homocysteine) is linked to heart disease and stroke. An elevated reading is usually because of a deficiency in vitamins B12, B6 or folate (another B vitamin.)” p. 114

“I take B12 for my depression and anxiety, and it has made a big difference. I continue to take it to help prevent dementia. But unfortunately, my personal experience with treating patients with B12, whether it be high-dose injections or simple over the counter pills backs up the idea that once the disease takes hold, it’s of little value.” p. 115
